Tickle me EMO

I have just been reading a story about a girl who has been cutting herself.

How crap must life be if the only outlet for you is slice your own skin. On top of the alienation you are already feeling, to then be labeled as an emo.

The trouble I have found is that a few kids actually relish the branding and play to the stereotype even harder. Unfortunately, perhaps fortunately these are not the kids with the huge issues. These are the ones that know exactly what they are doing and do it for attention. The ones I worry about are the one you never know about until it's too late.

If the kids are doing it to get attention, then there must be a reason there not getting attention in the first place therefore they do have some sort of problem with their life and they just want someone to notice them. But your right cutting is not the way.

I agree Han. Cutting is a symptom that something, somewhere is not working. Perhaps parents have issues, perhaps expectations and work or school are too high, perhaps someone has no healthy way of gaining attention. The worst part is, for some people, cutting is easier than confronting the shit they live with.
