Its all about candles and flowers and sitting quietly thinking about your own quiet self. I have just started my latest subject at CCTC and am struggling with it.
Its Contempory Spiritualities of Transformations, and I was looking forward to it. I don't want to insult anyone, particularly the lecturer, but I will struggle to maintain myself through this subject. Its not a boring subject, its just soooo feminine.
I wonder what a masculine spirituality would look like? I would imagine something more confronting and less passive. Not that being feminine is a passive thing but you may catch my drift. Most men can't stop and think for hours unless it is something active that has forced reflection.
For example I may have a conversation with my dad and that would cause me to think about how I relate to him and his role within my ideas and understandings of God. But I would struggle to sit quietly out of the blue and think about the links between God and fatherhood.
I will continue to struggle through it. but I will be looking for masculine images on the way.

Haha, it cracks me up that the picture I saw when I clicked to comment was of some lovely flowers!
But yeah I know where you're coming from, see I totally get into the whole candles and quietness/mediation thing, but know many others wouldn't-particularly a lot of my mates from footy etc.
I'd be interested to hear more of your thoughts on this mate.
What a wonderful invention it is, this thing we call the Internet!
I'm looking for answers that make sense on this subject, too. Authentic spirituality has made a big impact on my life, but if it had been all candles and angels and contemplation I'm not sure I would have continued. The denomination I'm in is about 70% female and I've been wondering how to make it more attractive to men. I got interested myself because it offered practical, positive solutions for my life problems, and discovered the benefits of the inner work later. So what are men looking for?
